And the Nominees Are

The annual Academy Award nominations were announced yesterday. There are some outstanding films in the all-important category of Costume Design. Here's an overview:

Albert Wolsky for "Across the Universe". Wolsky has been nominated for the Oscar 6 times and has won for "Bugsy" in 1991 and "All That Jazz" in 1979.

Jacqueline Durran for "Atonement". Durran has been nominated once before for "Pride and Prejudice" in 2005.

Alexandra Byrne for "Elizabeth: The Golden Age". This is the fourth nomination for Byrne.

Marit Allen for "La Vie en Rose". This is the first Academy Award nomination for Allen.

Colleen Atwood for "Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street". Atwood has been nominated 7 times and has won the Oscar for "Memoirs of a Geisha" in 2005 and "Chicago" in 2002.
